GovCMS training on Drupal

A week long GovCMS training on Drupal started on 23/4/2018 where webmasters from 20 dzongkhags and 4 thromdes will be participating. The event has been facilitated by DITT with support from M/s Zyxware Technologies and Yangkhor IT solutions. Following this event, all the dzongkhags and thromdes' sites will be hosted on the GovCMS platform which will be hosted at the GDC.

Training on “Android Development Fundamental Training program” at College of Science and Technology

A class of 18 IT lecturers from College of Science and Technology, Gyelposhing IT College and Sherubtse college in Phuntsholing have started the training on “Android Development Fundamental Training program” at College of Science and Technology, Rinchending from 24th April 2018. This will be 5 days intensive course, focusing on the development of Mobile Application using Android platform. With this training, the college Lecturers should be able to mentor and guide students with projects and innovative solutions using Android technology.

Outcome of the android training in Thimphu TechPark (2nd-21st April 2018)

Four Mobile Applications namely City Bus Service, Dzongkha Learning for Kids, M-contacts and Tourism, were developed and produced as the result of 21 days intensive training conducted on “Android based Mobile Application Development with Java” at Bhutan Innovation Technology Centre (BITC), Thimphu TechPark Limited (TTPL) from 2 - 21 April 2018. The following are the list of mobile applications with brief explanation on its functionalities:

Training on "Android based Mobile Application Development with Java"

A class of 14 ICT officials from various Dzongkhags and Ministries/Agencies in Thimphu have started the training on “Android based Mobile Application Development with Java” at Bhutan Innovation Technology Centre (BITC), Thimphu TechPark Limited (TTPL) from 2 April 2018. This will be 19 days intensive course, focusing on the development of Mobile Application on Android. With this training the department expects the trained ICT officials to launch 3-4 mobile application by the end of the training.

Workshop on Bhutan’s First Satellite Project, Bhutan-1

The Bhutan-1 Workshop organized by the Department of Information Technology & Telecom, Ministry of Information and Communications, in collaboration with the Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech) and College of Science and Technology (CST) was held on 20th March, 2018 at CST, Phuentsholing. The event was graced by Hon’ble Prime Minister, Dasho Tshering Tobgay along with Hon’ble Secretary, Dasho Karma W. Penjor, Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) and the Ambassador of Bhutan to Thailand, Tshewang C. Dorji.

Bhutan National Startup Weekend 2018 Results

The 3 day event, which started on 16th March 2018, came to an end yesterday. The event was graced by the Hon'ble Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay along with the Minister of Home and Cultural Affairs, Lyonpo Dawa Gyeltshen and Secretary of Ministry of Information and Communications, Dasho Kinley W Penjor. The winners of the competition were given prizes worth ranging from 100,000 to 800,000.
