World Telecommunications and Information Society Day 2019

The Ministry of Information and Communications (MOIC), Department of IT and Telecom joined the rest of the world in celebrating “World Telecommunications and Information Society Day (WTISD)” 2019. The celebration was graced by the Hon’ble Minister of MoEA, representatives of Asian Development Bank, the industry; Tashi Cell, NANO, DrukCom and the ICT officials of Government agencies.

Digital Transformation : Breaking Down Boundaries for Greater Connectivity

The 2 day WSO2 workshop was graced and opened by the Hon'ble minister of MoIC on 13th May, 2019. The event was divided into 2 parts where the first day was mainly for the executives, where CEOs from local IT firms and executives from government agencies attended, followed by a technical session on the 2nd day to the ICT officials in the government, the corporate and the private agencies.

Bhutan National Startup Weekend 2019

Bhutan Techstar National startup weekend 2019 will be held from 26th - 28th April 2019, where more than 180 participants selected and shortlisted from various colleges across the country, will be participating and competing during the 3 day event.
This year the theme of the event is based on these 5 domains :

International Girls in ICT Day 2019

International Girls in ICT Day, is an initiative by ITU (International Telecommunications Union), aiming to create a global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider careers in the growing field of ICTs, enabling both girls and technology companies to reap the benefits of greater female participation in the ICT sector. International Girls in ICT Day is celebrated on the 4th Thursday in April every year, which fell on the 25th of April this year.
