Announcement 

The “Project for Strengthening Government Capacity for Using Digital Technology and Data” (Four Banks Project), implemented through a joint collaboration between the Ministry of Health, GovTech Agency, and JICA will be conducting Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) screening using the Bhutan Care  mobile App. in coordination with the NCD Division, Ministry of Health  as part of its  programme in two phases. Phase I (26th January till 20th February 2026) will focus on APP PoC. and phase II (25th February till 15th March 2026) will be nationwide NCD screening in five districts. 

During phase I, four Thimphu Thromde clinics centers as mentioned below  will be used as sites  to facilitate registration of citizens in the mobile  application (Bhutan Care APP), and  to conduct basic health screening by health workers. This activity is part of the preparation for Phase II of the nationwide NCD screening, where more detail on it will be announced soon.

The screening  for Phase I will include: 

1. Registration  of citizens in “Bhutan Care  Mobile Application”.
2. Basic Health screening ( Blood pressure , BMI, check for Obesity etc..) 
3. Estimating 10 years risk for cardiovascular event (stroke and heart attack) based on WHO/ISH CVD risk chart 

Who will be screened? 

1. General public above 18 years of age.
2. Individuals with risk factors such as family history of NCDs, overweight/obesity, or those leading a sedentary lifestyle are highly encouraged to come forward for screening.

Prerequisites for screening: 

1. Please ensure that the NDI App is installed in your phone and ready to be used.
2. Please bring your CID card and where available, mobile phone.
