Press Release: October Cybersecurity Awareness Month-2025 (October) activities and events
The Bhutan Computer Incident Response Team (BtCIRT) under the Cyber Security Division, Govtech Agency is observing the October Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Following the first cybersecurity month observation in 2023, this year’s theme is “Think Smart, Act Secure: Cyber Awareness in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.” This fifth edition will include a series of events and activities for policymakers, ICT professionals, technical college students, and the general public.
A technical seminar on Digital Forensics and Network Analysis, co-organized with the National Cyber and Information Security Agency of the Czech Republic (NUKIB) and in collaboration with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi, will be held from October 14th to 16th. Experts from the Czech Republic (Czechia) from NUKIB and the National Counterterrorism, Extremism, and Cybercrime Agency (NCTEKK) will lead this seminar, which aims to provide the participants with a combination of expert presentations, group discussions, and practical demonstrations reflecting real-world scenarios faced by national cybersecurity teams.
Additionally, a one-day conference will take place on October 24th, 2025, in Thimphu. This event will feature diverse international and Bhutanese speakers covering a wide range of current and pertinent cybersecurity topics, making it a valuable opportunity for both ICT professionals and a broader audience.
Following the conference, a three-day symposium will be conducted in collaboration with Gyalpozhing College of Institute Technology (GCIT). This event, scheduled from October 27th to 29th, 2025, at Hotel Namgay Heritage, Thimphu, will feature experts from Israel, Guatemala, and Singapore across three tracks: Policy, Innovation, and Knowledge Sharing. In parallel, a Cyber Threat Management and Monitoring workshop will be held from October 27th to 31st. The workshop, developed from a poll on specific organizational needs, aims to transition attendees from security theory to practical tool deployment. This will ultimately strengthen their organization’s ability to prevent, detect, and respond to cyber threats.
The month’s other planned activities include weekly security tips on BtCIRT’s Facebook page, a cybersecurity program for new GovTech Agency recruits, and an open awareness program for the general public.
