Mandates

Responsible for fostering and promoting the utilization of cutting-edge technologies in the country.
Enable more active participation in global forums in the area of technology governance and promote our national interests in that context.
Develop legal framework (policy, strategy and plans etc.) in the emerging areas like AI, AR/VR, IOT, Blockchain, Robotics, Computer Vision, Drones, etc.. in collaboration with the stakeholders
Forecast and advise on the life span(obsoleteness) of current technologies in place.
Conduct R&D to determine appropriate technologies and systems suitable to unique Bhutanese conditions.
Provide an advisory role to the government for right investment in the domain areas.
Liaise with other international and national stakeholders (dhi, educational institutions, multinational companies etc… ) area of R&D.
