Mandates

The BtCIRT shall carry out of the following responsibilities at the national level:

Act as a national point of contact for cyber security issues for Bhutanese people, business, government and international agencies within the country.

Develop and maintain national incident management capabilities in both reactive and preventive ways.

Carryout cyber security awareness in the country.

Be a competent source of cyber incident information.

Coordinate cyber security incident response at the international level on behalf of the country.

Represent the country in international organizations and fora.

The BtCIRT shall carry out of the following responsibilities at the governmental level:

Monitor cyber security threats, identify incidents in governmental networks, data centers, and national critical ICT and Media infrastructures.

handle incidents, including having the authority to provide obligatory instructions for the government agencies, state owned organizations and national critical ICT and Media infrastructure agencies during major cyber security incidents.

Provide preventive cyber security services for government agencies, state owned organizations and national critical ICT and Media infrastructure agencies.
