World Telecommunication & Information Society Day

DITT, MoIC celebrated the World Telecommunication and Information Society day on 17th May, 2017. The day was marked by awarding prizes and certificates to the winners of ICT Champion and Website Competition.
There were seven nominees for the ICT Champion. Among the 7 nominees, the ICT Champions were Mr. Tshering, the winner for Individual Sub-category of Category 1: ICT Systems/Applications/Hardware Development. He was awarded for his system "My City System." The system is built solely for Citizen and Thromde interaction/collaboration while providing city services. The winner for the team sub category under category 1 was awarded to the MoIC team, for their Leave and Attendance System. The system was mainly developed to track and manage attendance and the leave records of MoIC employees.
For the Website competition,this year, in addition to top three websites, certificates were awarded to Most voted website and most improved website as well.
The top three websites were:
1) National Council of Bhutan (www.nationalcouncil.bt)
2) National Assembly of Bhutan (www.nab.gov.bt)
3) Ministry of Finance (www.mof.gov.bt)
Most voted website: Out of 217 votes, Ministry of Agriculture and Forests secured 139 votes and got the title of Most voted website.
Most Improved website: Office of the Attorney General was awarded the most improved website title. Their position in the last competition was 100th and this year they secured 19th position. There was an improvement by 81 places.
